Welcome to Crown Street Christian Fellowship's website!
We at Crown Street Christian Fellowship have designed
this website with you in mind.
My name is Christopher Day and I am the senior pastor
of Crown Street. I am married to Marj and have 3 children.
There are two other families with me on the leadership team
who are a great encouragement to me: Dean and Joy Kitchener;
Tony and Judy Barker.
Who are we?
We are a group of ordinary people who share a basic common conviction: namely that Jesus Christ, God's Son, is alive and deeply relevant to all our lives. We as a church believe passionately that the Bible is reliable and that the truth about life is contained within it's pages. We believe that christianity is about a relationship with the living Creator and Father God who loves us and wants us to know him.
As christians we know we are important to God and have been accepted by him through Jesus Christ. That is why much of our time at Crown Street is taken up with celebrating all that God has done for us. We do this through Praise and Worship and receiving teaching from the Word of God - the Bible. We also have a great desire to share the good news about Jesus with as many people as possible, so that others too might enter into the life we have experienced.
Sunday Worship
Our Sunday morning service commences at 10:30am. Normally we begin with praise and worship and it is during this time that we express ourselves to God in different ways. It may be with exuberance and joy or with reverence and awe. We encourage everyone in the congregation to contribute through prayer, song, Bible reading and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. For example the gift of prophecy or singing together; and the Biblical gift of tongues. After our worship we then receive teaching from the Bible, and the children receive their teaching at the Sunday School.
Mid week
Our midweek gatherings are normally held within homes and we call them cell groups. Much like the early christian church, these cell groups allow people to worship and share their experiences of God on a more intimate level.
